My car sounded like it was pinging at 4k rpm and above so I was wondering if the timing was off. I hooking up my neighbor's old timing light, it seemed to not be working. In the meantime the only thing I had done to the car was adjust the idle adjustment screw. Took the car for a quick spin anyway figuring wth.....and now the noises are gone. They were pretty audible before so it seems to be fixed.

What did you do to the idle adjustment? Assuming a carb'd setup if you can adjust the timing. If you leaned out the idle, you also leaned out everything else a little, which could cause ping. Likewise, being too rich can cause ping (but it usually has to be significantly rich...)

The idle was too low after I connected the two points you connect as part of the process for checking or setting the timing.

Unrelated note but the ND Looks soo good next to a NA, one day this is how my garage will be. I am way too excited for the ND, all of the weight of my NA with an extra 20 horsepower.

I can't wait until they are on the dealer lots and I can park my car next to one. I want so badly for them to make it available in BRG in the future. I'm definitely going to own one regardless.

NA says "Let's go play" and the ND "I'll eat you for breakfast".

I'm going to do the same thing, hopefully the dark blue will look close to Montego Blue Mica

How did I forget about DAT MONTEGO. We could have our 94M cars in Montego and the ND in it as well.

Regarding the pinging - Has it been sitting? Have you tried fresh gas? Gasoline goes bad quickly in the ethanol era...

I think the ND farted and NA is shocked.

In that case, I'd keep the revs low until you burn down the old gas, then mix in some premium Chevron and hoon a bit to mix the new fuel with the old fuel. Fuel stabilizers are great - especially in carbureted vehicles in which the jets can clog easily (obligatory Seafoam plug), but there's a limit to how much they can do.
